Besançon Last Weekend

Last weekend I made a visit to Besançon. The softlit backlight on the part of Besançon designed by Vauban (Louis XIVth‘s architect) was my only exposure of the weekend. In past years I would carry a smaller camera on my travels. Today I carry either a full-frame Canon or a Leica M8.

Fall Leaves on the Doubs

For many years I lived very close to the Doubs River in Besançon. I took thousands of photographs on its banks. Last fall on one of my occasional returns I caught some fall leaves backlit on its banks. In eastern France we have cold winters. And I do not look forward to it. Nonetheless, fall is certainly my favorite. It seems to be natures way of compensation.
